Successful Event Unites Hackney Community for Positive Change in Lwengo, Uganda

The weekend’s concluded Charity Garden Party, organised by Joy For Humanity, was a resounding success, and thanks to everyone involved. We witnessed an outpouring of support from the Hackney community and beyond, who joined hands to create a positive impact in Lwengo, Uganda.

Graced by the esteemed presence of Dame Meg Hillier, MP for Hackney South and Shoreditch, the event showcased the community’s collective efforts in supporting Joy For Humanity’s mission. MP Hillier commended Frampton Park Baptist Church, Esdale Street Surgery and everyone involved in the work done for their dedication and relentless commitment to improving the lives of those in Lwengo. She emphasised that this inspiring initiative should serve as an example for Hackney and beyond, urging increased support to extend help to other communities beyond their borders. MP Hillier pledged her support to Joy For Humanity and promised to amplify our efforts by sharing the remarkable work being done in Uganda.

Hackney Borough Deputy Speaker Cllr Sheila Suso-Runge and Cllr Claudia Turbet-Delof also graced the occasion, expressing their deep encouragement and commitment to supporting ongoing projects.

Appreciations to the Ambassadors who worked tirelessly to organise the event and extend invitations to guests. Their dedication and passion for the cause is unmeasurable and reflect their commitment to serving the people of Lwengo. Ambassador Nkosi emphasised the progress made through quality education, highlighting the need for continued child sponsorship and educational support. Ambassador Cassie shared the strides in providing quality healthcare through the new health centre, while Ambassador Reon moved hearts with his testimony on empowering families through sustainable economic growth projects.

Joseph sincerely appreciated Chairman Kevin and his family for hosting the Charity Garden Party and their massive support of the organisation’s activities in Lwengo. He thanked all the organisation Ambassadors for their commitment to supporting Lwengo, acknowledging the progress achieved in quality education, healthcare, and economic growth. He also thanked all attendees and supporters, recognising their vital role in transforming Uganda.
